spending not always good

I'm not sure that the government spending a bunch of money is always the answer. I understand that it worked for the great depression but nothing fails like success. What I mean is that things are much different now and just because something was successful 60 years ago doesn't mean it is the answer today. I really don't have a better answer but would like to see some kind of change.

Investing in renewable forms

Investing in renewable forms of energy is extremely important, as the state currently relies mostly on toxic, non-renewable fossil fuels for its energy production. Developing renewable energy (solar panels and off-shore wind mills, for example) will bring hundreds of thousands of jobs and quickly turn the economy around. To give people a good incentive to make this happen, the government needs to subsidize a lot more than it is currently doing. Yes, I know this sounds like a lot of spending, but it will pay off. (Just think of the New Deal during the Great Depression. Roosevelt spent billions of dollars on projects, which ended up putting our country on a very good track.)

Other issues of importance are those of small businesses and agriculture. We need fewer monopolizing corporations, more small businesses specializing in food and craft kinds of products. We need more organic farmers, who sell their produce at a reasonable price to local customers. To do this, we will need to provide more funding for people who are willing to take up the mantle, and we need to spread education about it.

That is what I think about that.

Of course, there are other issues as well, but these are the most important to me.
